I made many kinds of cards this year.
It has been a long time since I have posted anything.
I will be participating as a guest at “Kenya Days” hosted by INOSE at Kamoe Art Center in Hamamatsu City this coming Sunday, the 9th.
This event will be moderated by Chiaki Hayakawa, who has lived in Kenya for 36 years, and African drummer Masaya, INOSE, and I will have a talk session on the theme “Africa that changed my life”. There will also be a live performance by the two drummers. I will be showing some of my African works as an exhibition. Please come and join us on this occasion.

Suddenly, tomorrow morning (12/5) around 8:30 a.m., I will appear on a program called Morning Rajira on Shizuoka FM Broadcasting Corporation K-MIX.
If you would like to listen to the program, please do so. It will last about 10 minutes.
The solo exhibition “~Melody~” held at Gallery MENIO from October 3 to 15 and the solo exhibition “~Flowers~” held at Esplanade Gallery from October 26 to 31 have both ended successfully. Thank you very much to everyone who came to see the exhibition and to those who cared about us even though they could not come to the venue. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thanks to the fact that more than half of the audience were first-time visitors, we believe we were able to introduce a little bit of a new world to everyone. Unfortunately, not many people filled out their names in the guest book, and we regret that we cannot contact them directly for the next time. However, I am sure that this will lead to future events.
The solo exhibition at Gallery MENIO was accompanied by a concert featuring the piano piece that inspired the cover painting, and more than 50 guests enjoyed sharing the world view of the work with the artist.
Many visitors commented that the paintings they saw before the concert and the ones they saw after the concert were so different that it was hard to believe they were the same. I was so impressed that I couldn’t believe they were the same. The pieces of paper really look like notes. We were very happy to receive such a positive feedback from the audience.
The art book produced for the solo exhibition at Gallery MENIO features Musica Nova’s cover painting, and by scanning the QR code on each page, you can actually enjoy the pianist’s performance.
If you are interested, please contact me by e-mail.
Pianists Saki Fuseya and Hiroko Ando
The solo exhibition that began on the 26th was held in Shikemichi, an area that still retains its old townscape. The Esplanade Gallery, which served as the venue for the exhibition, is also a 150-year-old building.
Esplanade Gallery’s theme for 2017 is centered around the theme of “Wandering Flower (mikka)”. The theme of this series, inspired by a favorite TV personality, is “the duality of human nature. This is the reason why a single work is represented in color and black and white. The latest work is a further fusion of the two.
I feel that the Wandering Flower series I am currently working on is entering a new phase. For the time being, I will continue to look at this theme, work on it, and hope to eventually sublimate it into something I want to express. I hope that you will continue to look at my paper quilts as they change little by little.
I will hold two solo exhibitions in Nagoya in October.
I hope you will take this opportunity to visit the exhibitions.
The first exhibition will be a commemorative show of the cover painting for Musica Nova, published by Ongaku no Tomo last year, and will focus on the original artwork for the cover. The exhibition in the second half of the month will focus on his recent work on the theme of “MIKKA (Wandering Flower)” I will be present at both exhibitions all day long. We look forward to seeing you there.

I will have two solo exhibitions in Nagoya in October. I finally finished enclosing the DMs and flyers. Now I’m going to put postage stamps on them. I will send them out in September, though.
This time, there will be a piano concert as well, so I am planning to make an art book that you can listen to the music.
The details of the exhibition are as follows.
I will be at the gallery all day for both exhibitions.

I have two solo exhibitions in Nagoya this October, so I am working every day.
Last year, I was in charge of the cover painting for Musica Nova, which led me to hold an exhibition at Menicon ANNEX, which will also include a piano concert. The exhibition will mainly feature the cover art of Musica Nova. A workshop will be held as well (details to be announced as soon as they are finalized).
After that, the next solo exhibition will be held a week later at Esplanade Gallery near Nagoya Station. I will be showing mainly new works with a new theme here.
I hope to see you there.
This is the last cover art for MusicaNova, and for the December issue we have chosen “Fir Tree” by Sibelius. In Scandinavia, the fir tree is a symbol of eternal life. The reason for this is that the fir tree is considered to be a place where souls come and go and where life and death intersect. Coincidentally, the cover of the January issue, on which I began working for Musica Nova, features an Amarantine, which means “eternal flower”. I was deeply moved by how fateful it turned out to be, starting with “eternity” and ending with “forever”.
The November issue of Musica Nova is now available. The image music for this issue is for Elise, composed by Beethoven. The identity of Elise is still unidentified, and the song is full of mystery, but if you know even a little bit of its background, the sadness of this song is doubled. Where is Elise for me now and what is she doing? LOL!
